Weigh-In Week 3
Today was the day. My official weigh in. As soon as I got out of bed, I stripped down, and got on the scales and I have to admit I was pretty happy. I'm down 5.2 lbs this week! Woo Hoo!!! That makes 13.2 lbs so far!
Day TWENTY-ONE Diet and Exercise
Wow. Twenty one days! I am so happy about that. I've been on the treadmill every single day! Tomorrow is my official weigh in day. I'm excited. I hope the scales are friendly. I know I've tried hard this week. It sure hasn't been easy.
There is a saying on 3FC {3 Fat Chicks on a Diet} that inspired me this week.
I can do this!! One day and one pound at a time.
Today it was a task to get on that treadmill. I was in such a bad mood. Someone had broke in to my parents vacation cabin and stole anything and everything that they could possibly sell. I was so angry, upset, aggravated. I just didn't have the motivation to get on there. But then I told myself.. I made a promise to myself and I intend to keep it. I got on there and walked two miles.
Wish me luck tomorrow!

Being fat is hard. Losing weight is hard. Maintaining your weight is hard. Pick your hard.I've been within the calorie range all week and have tracked them on My Fitness Pal, drank my water, very little Diet Coke, and no junk. Surely the scales will notice. If not, I will keep on going anyway. Someday it will show.

Day TWENTY Diet and Exercise
I meant to write last night, but the power went out. We had some crazy weather. Lots of rain, wind, and even thunder and lightening. Strange for January.
Anyway, yesterday went pretty well. I made homemade chili, and probably spent too many calories on that for supper as I was starving by bedtime with nearly no calories left to use. It was really good though.
I drank all my water, walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill, and counted my calories for the 5th day in a row. Now I can mark that off of my goal list and set a new one. Woo hoo!
My biggest struggle yesterday was staying away from the blueberry muffins that I had baked for my boys and a friend. They smell so wonderful, and I know from experience that they taste wonderful too. I didn't eat one but when I was making them I had licked the spoon before I caught myself. Ugh. Thankfully there wasn't much of anything on it. It is so crazy that I had that spoon in my mouth before I even knew what I was doing then I got mad at myself. Can't stay mad though, cause that was twenty days straight with no cakes, cookies, ice cream, or eating out!

Homemade Chili with Corn & MushroomsTo make the chili healthier you could use a no salt tomato juice or even v8 juice, leaner burger or even do a veggie chili without meat. I am pretty sure u can get the low sodium corn as well. Instead of the canned diced tomatoes, you could use fresh tomatoes and onions. If I don't have kidney beans on hand, I fix pinto beans in the crock-pot and use them. They taste great as well.
Ground Beef - Chuck 80% Lean 20% Fat , 16 oz
Valu Time - Tomato Juice From Concentrate 46 Fl oz (1 Qt 14 Fl oz) 1.36 L
Food Club - Diced Tomatoes Chili Style With Onions 14.5 oz (411g)
Food Club - Dark Red Kidney Beans, 7 cup (130g)
Libby's - Whole Kernel Sweet Corn, 1 3/4 cup
Valu Time - Spices and Seasonings for Chili : A Tex Mex Treat : 1 oz (28g)
Valu Time - Mushrooms - Stems & Pieces, 1 cup
I estimated it should serve 10 people with around 411 calories per serving.

Day NINETEEN Diet and Exercise
Sorry I didn't get a chance to write last night. I had a crazy afternoon. My oldest had speech therapy, then I had to go to the grocery store. That took all afternoon. By the time I came home, packed the groceries in, put them away, done dishes and laundry, it was time for the kids to bath. I got them bathed and in bed and finally made time to walk two miles on the treadmill, get my calories in on My Fitness Pal, shower and hit the hay.
Food was pretty good yesterday. I was too busy to be tempted with junk food. I did cave in and have some Diet Pepsi. Probably not even a whole can though.
The toughest part of the day was making myself get on the treadmill last night because I was so exhausted. But I did it, and I am glad I did.

Day EIGHTEEN Diet and Exercise
Surprisingly, today went pretty well. I stayed within my calorie limit, drank my water and most of it was just plain water, no Diet Coke, and I walked a whopping three miles on the treadmill! I even tracked my calories on my fitness pal.
The hardest part about today was the left over pizza from yesterday. It was so hard not to eat a slice of that pizza for breakfast. But I didn't cave in because I am on a mission. I would love to lose 30 lbs by March. It may not happen, but I am gonna give it my all!
I think the kids are getting use to not having as much pop and junk food in the house, which is good too. I don't want them to grow up and have the issues that I have had. I want them to remember a Mom who was full of life, ate healthy, and exercised regularly. Rather than a Mom who was fat and lazy.
I pray for strength to see this through. One day at a time, one lb at a time.

Day SEVENTEEN Diet and Exercise
Today has been good. I've kept my calories in check, I've drank nine (8oz) glasses of water so far and it is just 9 pm. I also walked 2 miles on the treadmill.
DH brought a three meat pizza home for the boys and oh my goodness, it has been so hard not to eat a piece of that pizza. I finally had to wrap it up in aluminum foil and put it in the fridge so that I wouldn't have to look at it.
I did break down and have a handful of pretzels with some salsa and about 1/2 of a candy cane that was left from Christmas. But, that is still better than devouring a slice of that pizza.
17 days and I'm still going strong. WOO!

Day SIXTEEN Diet and Exercise
I didn't get a chance to check in last night before I went to bed, but I did get all of my calories tracked on My Fitness Pal. I'm glad I kept it with my limit. I put up a button on the right hand side of the blog if you want to check out my profile on there. I set my food diary to public as well. If you are already on there, add me as a friend.
I didn't get in as much water as I wanted to yesterday. I don't drink our well water and didn't get out to the store so all I had here was Diet Pepsi, milk or juice. I knew I should probably stay away from the juice, and I'm not a fan of milk. So it was Diet Pepsi most of the day until DH got home from work with water. However, the 4 cups I got in were just plain water. No flavoring.
I really pushed myself on the treadmill yesterday. I did 2.5 miles. WOO!

Day FIFTEEN Diet and Exercise
Wow. Today has been a challenge, to say the least. Of course it is Sunday, and like I've said before.. Sunday is always my hardest day. The boys and I went to Moms for a while as we usually do to be with the family for dinner. My sister and her family came over to have a birthday party for my niece who is turning seventeen.
Cake, ice cream, chips and dip along with all the other food were there to tempt me. I had some potatoes and carrots that were cooked with pork chops, but only had a tiny piece of meat about the size of a quarter. I also had broccoli, soup beans and sour kraut. I know it sounds like an odd combo but Mom cooked and then my sister had brought stuff to fix as well. It was along the lines of a potluck birthday party.
I am proud to say that I help cut the cake and serve the ice cream but I didn't have any for myself. Like I said before, it usually isn't the sweets that gets me. It's the salty. I did cave in and have 4 potato chips and a couple handfuls of pretzels. After I had them, I was disappointed in myself, but there was nothing I could do about it at that point.
I came home and walked a mile on the treadmill even though I had a busting headache and all I wanted to do was go to bed. I knew that if I didn't get on there and a least try to make it a mile, I'd end up giving up completely. It has to become a habit for me. Something that I find routine and enjoy.
For supper I had a salad with a single serving of shaved ham and light dressing with yogurt for dessert. I really need to work on having the dressing on the side of the salad. I am sure that would eliminate a lot of calories. I normally don't have ham on my salads. Usually it is tuna but I didn't have any on hand.
I've drank plenty of plain water today and haven't had a Diet Coke at all. Two days in a row. Woo hoo! So unlike the old me.
I still can't believe I have made it to week 3!
