Weigh-In Week 8

After the snowbound trip at Moms, missing 3 days of working out.. I'm down 0.8 lbs from last Sunday. Not a huge accomplishment, but at least it isn't a gain. I am hoping for a 3.1 lb loss next Sunday. I will have to work hard, but I can do it. Wish me luck!

Day 56

Whew.. today has been a long one. Michael, the boys, and I got up early to go to the rec center and work out.  I did 2 miles on the treadmill and a little over 6 miles on the bike. Then Michael helped me with some upper body strength training circuits.

 After working out the boys wanted to spend the night with my sister. We stopped by Long John Silvers to get them some lunch because that is what they asked for. Man alive, it was hard not to eat one of those hush puppies, but I refrained.

Once we had the kids settled with my sister, Michael and I stopped by Subway and had lunch. Subway is eating out, but it is better than deep fried Long John Silvers food, right?

We stopped by several local vendors malls and Goodwill before we finally made it to his Moms house. We spent the entire evening there and of course I didn't think ahead and take me something to eat. They did have strawberries, so I had some of those.

We headed home around 10 pm but had to stop by Walmart for a few things. I was starving. I know I shouldn't put myself in that position, but I tried to make good decisions. I had to eat something or I was going to pass out before I got home. So I had a string cheese (80 cals) and a cup of no-sugar-added rice pudding (70 cals). It held me over. Thank goodness.

My choices today weren't wonderful ones, but I did get up early and make time to work out when in the past I would have just slept til noon. That is a step in the right direction.

I dread the scales tomorrow.. but that number does not define me.. I'm getting stronger everyday!

Day 55

Okie Dokie guys.. today wasn't the best day for me. I have been so exhausted I could barely go. Dalton kept me up the night before last and then last night Bailey was up with a headache and fever. I did lay down and take a 3 hour nap midday which helped some. I was able to do some cleaning that needed to be done here around the house. I didn't however get on the treadmill. I feel a bit guilty about that.. but I just didn't have it in me today.

My calories were within range, I didn't have any Diet Coke, and I drank a TON of water.

The scales moved a tiny smidge today. Hopefully a bit more tomorrow... but where I didn't get on the treadmill... I dunno. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Michael is off from work tomorrow and I would really like to get to go to the rec center and get in a good workout if the kids are feeling better. But, Michael would like to go to his Moms, which is an hour drive in the other direction.. so working out at the rec center may not happen unless we get super early and go. I know I can't skip working out all together again. I have to put in the effort if I want to see results.

I really wanted this to be a good week, but instead it has been totally insane. I will be lucky to have a 1 lb loss this week when I do my official weigh in on Sunday. Even if I haven't lost, as long as I haven't gained I'll just deal with it and work harder next week.

Life is never going to always go our way, so if I don't make it, Ill pull myself up by my boot straps and keep on truckin'. Ill get there eventually.

Day 54

Today has been a pretty decent day. I stayed up late reading and had to get up early, but I made it through the day ok. I was a bit irritated when the scale was still dead even.. down to the ounce.. but I eventually got over it. 

I took the kids to the library this evening and then after work Michael met up with us and we went to the rec center to work out. I walked 2 miles on the treadmill and read my book while I walked. I am sure I got more than a few strange looks, and more than likely totally embarrassed my DH, but hey.. it passes the time and I never said I wasn't a bookworm. After the treadmill I did 6 miles on the bike. No strength training. It takes forever for me to get my cardio in and by that time the kids are getting impatient.

Food today has been ok. We did eat supper at Subway, but I still came in under my calorie goal. I even got in all my water. So all in all today has been a keeper.

I have to drive my youngest to school in the morning so I better get some rest. I hope everyone else had a fantastic day!

Day 53

Hello everyone! Thanks to you wonderful folks that commented yesterday! That really made my day.

The scale was nice this morning. I was down 1 lb. I'm back to where I was before my snow-bound adventure at Moms. Now to get the ball rolling again!

Michael had to close at work this evening, so we didn't go to the rec center. I guess that is ok though as my back has been hurting a lot today. I didn't sleep well at Moms the other night because the bed was hard as a brick.. and I've paid for it ever since. I wanted to get in at least 3 miles on the treadmill tonight, but my back just wouldn't allow it. I managed to get 2 miles though. Good enough, I guess.

Food has been pretty good today. I could have made better choices on more than a few things.. but I stayed within my goals. I've had all my water, plus more. If I could have only got in a bit more exercise. Still.. I may see a tiny drop tomorrow... we shall see. It's not about the number anyway.. it is about not getting diabetes!

Day 52

How is everyone tonight? Great I hope!

Today has been a pretty decent day. I have managed to get all my water in, keep my calories in check, and go to the rec center to work out. I did two miles on the treadmill and a little over six miles on the bike. I had hoped to do some strength training, but they were closing at 9pm. I thought they stayed open til 11pm, but apparently not.

The scales weren't too horribly mean this morning. I was up a lb but my hands and feet were super swollen. I guess too much sodium at Moms didn't help the fact that I had too much food to begin with.  Hopefully we are back on track by tomorrow or the next day. I really want to be down 30 lbs by my birthday in March. If I stay on plan, I am sure I can make it.

I guess I am going to hit the hay as I have the urge to munch on something and I don't want to put food in my mouth at this hour. To bed I go.

Day 50 and 51

Sorry I have been MIA. It snowed yesterday, a lot. It was a very heavy/wet snow. So we had trees down everywhere and no electricity. We had to spend the night at my parents house as they have a wood stove to keep us warm. Food was horrid. I did get in my water and a little exercise as I did some walking in the snow. I didn't get any scheduled exercise. I am home now (with electricity) and I am exhausted. So no exercise today either. I'm back on track tomorrow. Promise.
