Day 145, 146, 147

Ok, I know I am a million miles behind on posting. I really don't mean to fall behind, but I have had no motivation to eat right, post, exercise or do anything I should be doing. I'm still sick and feeling down in the dumps.

Thursday, Day 145, I woke up barely able to speak... I was attempting to talk to Michael and said "This is such a tragedy." He laughed and said "More like a phenomenon!" o.O I swiped him on the shoulder. Didn't hit him too hard cause I cant run right now. I'd lose a lung coughing, and I know he'd have chased me down and tickled me (which I hate) or something.

We had a busy day. We had to go to to Wal-Mart, the grocery store, library, and a local farm store. While Michael was in the farm store, a doctor we know was in there with his lawn mower. Just so happened it was messed up and doing the exact same thing ours has been doing. It cost us $4 for the part to fix it. Talk about luck. We were just getting ready to buy a new one. Michael was getting sick of mowing our entire property with the weed-eater.

Before we came home we stopped by a consignment shop that was having a Memorial Day sale. Michael really needed a new pair of shoes, but as I've mentioned, money is tight right now. He had been eyeing a pair of adidas in the sports store but we couldn't really afford them. He found the same pair at the consignment shop, brand new, for $9! Turned out to be a pretty lucky day.

God works in mysterious ways. Just when you think you can't take anything else, He comes through for you. He is an awesome God. Praise Him for His grace.

I am starting a new sleep routine with the boys and it has been an adventure to say the least. I went in D's bedroom and told the boys "In 15 minutes you two are going to lay down and try to go to sleep. I want you asleep before midnight. No more of this all niter stuff. Summer or not. No rough housing or misbehaving or I'll have your hides (they knew I was bluffing)." Bai turns around, looks at me and says "But Mom, we are all about misbehaving." I busted out laughing and said "That is the truth if I ever heard it!"

Bai sure wasn't kidding. It took them until 3 am to fall asleep. I ended up falling asleep on the couch waiting on them to go to sleep. But in the end, they did go to sleep, in their own bed, without one of us laying down with them until they were out.

See, a few years back I had them doing all this, then Dalton started school and was really having a hard time adjusting to being away from us. Michael would lay down with him and read him stories til he went to sleep. It was the only way he wouldn't cry not wanting to go to school the next day. Most of the time Michael would fall asleep too. So Bai would climb in bed with me at night since Michael was in bed with Dalton. Since then we have played musical beds. Every night we are all over this house. I just need some normalcy back.

Friday, Day 146,  I felt horrible. I was weak, dizzy, smothering and coughing horribly all day. The kids filled up their kiddie pool and splashed around some. We are having a heat wave right now.  Ninety-Five degrees but it felt more like 110 with the heat index.

Late in the afternoon we went to Mom and Dads. We sat on her ol' time kitchens porch and talked til after dark. It was great to listen to Daddy tell stories from when he was young and working hard in the coal mines. Nothing like the way things are today.

It took Dalton til 2 am to go to sleep on day two.  Bai on the other hand didn't work out as well. At 3 am he was still laying in bed awake. I fell asleep in the recliner which is right beside their bedroom door. Once I was out, he got back up, turned on his light and played with his Lego's until 5 am when I woke up. Needless to say he ended back in bed with me.

Saturday, Day 147, I got the boys up early with the hopes of getting them in bed earlier. It worked more so than the last few nights. They were out by a little after 1 am.

In between getting up and going to bed, we went to my Mom and Dads. The entire family came for a cookout and some how I ended up being the one who had to grill all the food. It was scorching hot outside, standing by a grill when you can barely breathe as it is, is not fun. But in the end we did have a nice time.

When we got home, I went straight to the washer and started a load of laundry. I turned the sucker on and off a few times, but the water wouldn't come into the machine. I honestly thought it was just the machine acting up. It has had issues ever since we left it in storage for a year. It takes an act of congress to get a load washed. Which really sucks considering it was a new machine before we put it in storage. As luck would have it, it had nothing to do with the machine. The boys had left the water turned on outside and the hose busted. It drained our 500 gallon tank. Ugh!! How frustrating.

We don't have city water, and before we moved here the strip miners sank the well that was originally drilled for this house. So, they ended up digging two wells that weren't as good as the first and the water comes from both into the tank.

Here we were with no water to bath, do laundry, dishes, or even flush the toilet. We get our drinking water at Mom's normally, because I don't like the idea of drinking water that has sat in that tank. I went to Moms, took a dozen jugs, and filled them up. At least we had water to flush the toilet through the night. By morning, the tank was filled enough that I didn't have to worry about that anymore and could do dishes. But washing clothes was out of the question.

As you can tell, it has been a little bit insane here lately. But I am alive and well. Food has been rough and exercise has been non-existent.
