Day 49 Diet and Exercise
The scale was fantastic this morning. I was down 25 lbs to the ounce! I was so happy. I've worked so hard for those 25 lbs!! I'm hoping for an even 30 before my birthday in March. I won't give up if I don't make it.. but I would be thrilled if I did.
Food has been fair today. I didn't break down and eat any chips, pizza, fries, burgers, donuts or anything like that. Even if I could have made better choices, I could have made worse ones as well. I'm happy with how I did today. I got my eight glasses of water in today, but not a single oz more. Much better than yesterday.
It was suppose to snow this afternoon, so we didn't go to the rec center. No snow as of yet. But, the weatherman is now saying it will start in the morning around 7 am. They are giving anywhere from 6-14 inches depending on elevation. I expect us to be in the higher range. I dread it. It is suppose to be a really wet and heavy snow. I hope and pray it doesn't cause trees to fall on the power lines. I hate being without electricity as we have to go to Moms and stay. She has a wood stove on her patio to keep us toasty. I don't hate going to Moms. I just get aggravated because it is harder to deal with my kids there as my nephews live next door and want to play with the boys. Anytime that you get all four of them together it is bedlam. The temperature is suppose to be warmer tomorrow so maybe if it does snow that much some of it will melt off.
I walked two miles on the treadmill this afternoon. Michael looks at me and says "Really, Jo? Really?" After I'd been on the treadmill a good 15 minutes. It took him that long to notice I was walking and reading a book at the same time. He thinks I am such a geek (in the fondest meaning of the word).
I don't expect to see a drastic change on the scale tomorrow. I just hope not to see a gain. We shall see I suppose.
I'm off to read a little before I hit the hay. It shouldn't take me long to fall asleep as I've been so draggy all day. Nite all!

Day 48 Diet and Exercise
Yesterday went pretty good. I weighed and was dangerously close to being down 25 lbs. I am so happy about that. Food was within range. I didn't drink near as much water as I should have though.
Michael, the boys, and I went to the rec center to work out and I came close to passing out. I had ate breakfast and lunch before I went, but evidently I had waited too long between meals. Next time I will make sure to have some sort of snack before I go. I did a mile on the treadmill and a little over seven miles on the bike. I had planned to get some weight training in, but I didn't even attempt it after I felt faint.
I got in bed early last night but ended up reading until 3 am! So there you have my reason for not writing. I had my nose stuck in a book.
Hope each of you out there in never never land are having a great day!

Day 47 Diet and Exercise
I've felt better today, thank God! I was miserable yesterday. I just wanted to sleep and sleep and sleep. The scales were nice this morning. I'm down 22.4 lbs now, and I am pretty excited about that. Getting closer to goal everyday.. Ok, so I am a million miles away, but I am getting closer.
Before we went to the rec center to work out, I told Michael I'd like to get my hair cut. I hadn't cut it in over a year and it was time for a change. I guess I lost about 7 inches of hair. It will take some getting use to, but I like it. I had planned to go shorter but the girl didn't do what she was told. You know how that goes. I probably should have made her cut it shorter, but I am a pushover. It looks pretty good though, so it will do for now. Much better than the stringy stuff it was before.
Right before I went to work out, I thought.. I better get a pic of my hair. So there you have it. Bathroom stall and all. Haha.
Food has been pretty decent today. No real complaints this afternoon as far as that goes. I could have had more water. Didn't need to drink that Diet Coke, but such is life. I did 1 mile on the treadmill today and around 5 miles on the bike. We ended up leaving early as my youngest was sleepy and whiny. I really wanted to get some strength training in. Maybe next time.
Until tomorrow.. over and out.

Day 46 Diet and Exercise
Now that AF is gone, the scale was nicer this morning. I hope to have an even better number by tomorrow.
Today has been a rollercoaster of emotion for me. My nephew, his wife, and two small children were in a horrible car wreck. It flipped several times. Thankfully, God was watching over them. They are all going to be ok, just really sore, bruised, and scrapped up. My nephew got the worst of it and was having severe pain in his neck, back, and legs. We were very scared but the doctors are optimistic that it is just soft tissue injuries.
I have slept a lot today. I've just been so tired. I don't know if I am getting sick or if I really just needed the rest. This means tomorrow is going to be crazy trying to catch up on everything I didn't do today.
Food has been pretty good today. I did have one minor slip up. My son was eating his Valentine's Day candy from school and I saw a mini laffy taffy in the bag. Seriously, before I knew what I was doing, I had that sucker in my stomach. How does that happen? After I was like, oh crap. I totally just ate candy. Ugh. Otherwise I really didn't make any bad choices today. I hope the scale reflects that in the morning.
I really didn't want to workout as I was so stressed over my nephew. I just wanted to eat a huge bag of chips. Instead I had a salad and I forced myself on the treadmill. I managed to walk a mile. I'll take it, given the situation. I had every opportunity to make excuses, but I didn't allow myself. I got on there and done it. Given it isn't as many miles as I normally do... but it was something. Right?
I think I finally see a bit of change in my body when I look in the mirror. I'm able to do everyday things easier than I was before. This makes me happy. I still have a very long way to go. But one day at a time. I'll get there.

Day 45 Diet and Exercise
Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I hope your day was amazing. Mine has been pretty good. Just busy, busy, busy as usual. Sometimes I pray for Summer to get here so I can sleep. Wishing my life away, I know. Just being honest though.
Anyway, back to Valentine's Day. I'm not your usual "girl". I don't like cut flowers that you have to pay for. During the Spring/Summer months I love it when DH stops by the road and cuts me roses or picks me some sort of flower to stick in a blue mason jar on the cabinet. But when it comes to Valentine's Day, quite frankly it ticks me off to think that someone would seriously spend $8 for a single rose that is going to die in a few days. To me that is a thoughtless gift and it seems to be the norm or expected on Valentine's Day. It is the little things people. If he felt he had to buy me something, I'd like a potted plant I'd be happier with a potted plant that blooms year after year.
I don't like jewelry and I am not much on chocolates either. Now if DH brought me home a bag of Buffalo Doritos and a large Diet Coke I'd be in hog heaven. But for now, I've sworn off potato chips. I did have a Diet Coke tonight after we worked out at the rec center.
So what did I ask for as a gift for Valentine's Day? Nada. Nothing. My DH shows me he loves me every single day of his life. It is Valentine's Day all year round for us. But, I did wake up to something really sweet this morning. Michael Kept himself in line and didn't go out and buy me flowers. He found a sweet saying online this morning before work and left the page open so he knew I would find it when I got up. Does he know me or what? It said...
On this Valentines I admit that...
It's the sight of you that makes me nervous
It's your voice that makes me shiver
It's your presence that tingles my bones
It's your eyes that kill me
It's you for which my heart goes restless
Dear, On this Valentine's Day, I admit...
I LOVE YOU!
Now, if you ask me, that is 1000x better than flowers. He's a keeper. That's for sure!
My calories have been within range today. I could have made better choices, but that is usually the way it goes. I have drank all the water I needed to, but not a drip more. Like I said before I had a Diet Coke, too.
Michael didn't get off from work until 7pm and I really didn't feel up to working out, but I knew I had to make myself. I'd feel better about it once I got moving. I did a mile on the treadmill and a little over 5.5 miles total on the recumbent bike and spin bike. I tried that insane ARC trainer again. I just can't do it. I made it about two minutes before I thought I was going to die. At least I tried, right? No strength training today. My arms a smidge sore today. I didn't want to over do it. I like the use of my arms.
I had a slightly better number on the scale this morning. I hope tomorrow is even better as AF should be completely gone. I need to get this train moving in the right direction again. I need to really reevaluate my food. I need to go back to eating like I did in January. I've been too lax this month thus far. Tomorrow is 1/2 way through the month, so if I am going to get on track, I better do it now.
I guess I better hit the hay. I have another long day ahead of me tomorrow.

Day 44 Diet and Exercise
Today has been the longest day of my life. I swear, I am totally exhausted. There wasn't school today for my youngest because of icy roads so I had both him and Bai here at home. I had a million things that needed done here around the house. Then after Michael got home we went to the rec center and worked out.
I haven't had a pop in a couple days. I'm pretty proud of that. Food has been within range, but the scale is hating me.
Tonight I did 2 miles on the treadmill, 3 miles on a recumbent bike, 3 miles on a spin bike (but ended up sitting A LOT) and then did some strength training with Michael.
I'm spent. I gotta hit the hay. More tomorrow. Promise.

Day 43 Diet and Exercise
I took this video last night to show you the workout area at the Recreation Center. We purchased a membership for the month to see if we like working out there enough to keep it a year. Sorry it is so bumpy and blurry. I was trying to keep up with my boys and my niece as it was close to closing time.
Today the boys and I went down to Moms as we usually do on Sunday. The entire family was there and there was a huge potluck of food. I tried my best to avoid all the temptations. I didn't have cake and ice cream for dessert like everyone else did. I'm proud of that. It looked very tempting.
After we left Moms, the boys and I drove to town and met up with Michael as he was getting off from work. We went to the recreation center so the kids could play and Michael and I could work out. Michael worked on his back. He has certain days that he does certain things. He has been working out for years. We pretty much had an entire gym in our home before my oldest wanted his own room. As a result we had to downsize our equipment. We still have a weight bench, punching bag, and treadmill here at home. It is sad that I had all that right here in my home and still managed to get fat.
Anyway, I worked pretty hard today. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and then I did 5.56 miles on the bike programed to weight loss. It worked me out that is for sure. I did get back on the ARC but was only able to do about 7 minutes before I thought I was going to die. That sucker is M.E.A.N. Michael helped me a little with some of the strength training machines that I'm not all that familiar with. I loved having him show me his part of the gym. My arms, chest, back are all a tiny bit sore, but nothing major.
Well I am exhausted. I gots to get in bed. Nite all!
