Day 92

*waves* Hey everyone.. I'm sorry that I have been MIA. It has been such a busy few days.

Friday (Day 90) Michael, the boys, and I were on the road all day hunting supplies for bunnies. My boys participate in the local 4-H livestock program and decided this year they would like to show bunnies. Given that we have never raised rabbits before, we had to buy everything for two! We were at Walmart, Lowes, and Tractor Supply trying to round up everything. We ended up spending a ton of money, but managed to get it all. Once we made it home, it was time to start putting hutches together and building a travel cage to transport the bunnies. By the time we finished, it was 10 pm and we had to go to bed. We had to be up and ready to leave by 2:45 am!! Of course, I can never sleep when I have to be up that early. My mind runs in a million circles trying to make sure I have packed everything the kids will need, etc. I know it was after 12 before I even dozed off !

Food on Friday wasn't horrible. I did end up eating out while we were on the go. I had 2 soft tacos from Taco Bell. But, considering how much walking I did and the amount of sweat I lost while putting together the cages and carrier, I'm sure it was fine. I barely found time to eat anything else the rest of the day. I did get my water in, though.

Saturday (Day 91) We were up and out the door by 3:15 am heading for the local extension office. Our 4-H group pulled out heading across the state to the rabbit show by 4 am. It took us about 5 hours in the vans to make it to the show. We stopped along the way 2x at gas stations. That is where we had breakfast. I had a sausage and egg biscuit because the choices were very limited. I had packed lunch and snacks but didn't have time to eat breakfast at home as I had planned to. Once we arrived at the show things were crazy all day long. We didn't eat again til about 2 pm during the "lunch" intermission. They had a snack bar, but who wants to eat food that is cooked in a building where there are at least 1500 rabbits? We ended up eating the stuff I had packed. The boys and Michael had PB&Js and a truck load of snack stuff. I had a banana, an apple, a can of beenie weenies, and a few chex mix. Real healthy, huh? But everything we brought had to be stuff that wouldn't ruin in the heat as there was no room for coolers on the vans with all of us and the rabbits. We left the fair grounds around 5 pm. Guess where they decided to stop for dinner? Long John Silvers! I kid you not! I could have had a baked  fish meal.. but honestly I was so hungry I didn't even think about calories. I had the 2 piece fish meal. We made it back to the house around 10 pm. By the time we got showers it was almost midnight and I was so exhausted. A busy day like that on a little over 2 hours of sleep about killed me. When I laid down, I think I went into a coma.

Sunday (Day 92) I slept like a log until around 10 am. I woke up feeling refreshed, but I had so much to do in this house before noon... I didn't find time to eat... again. We had to leave and go to my nieces BBQ she was having for the family. Bad eating again! She had all the fattening foods you would expect and I ate a little of it all. I'm not proud to say that, but it happened and I'll not hide it. We spent most of the evening at her house with the family. I guess it was around 7 pm before we made it back home. Michael and I worked on the rabbit carrier some more and then it was time for showers and bed.

Even though I ate a lot that I shouldn't have over the past few days, I was super busy and moved a lot too. So maybe when I step on the scales this morning.. it won't be too bad. Wish me luck!

Above is Bailey and his broken blue mini-rex buck named Jabba. Below is Dalton and his broken black mini-rex buck named Jango. Both photos were taken outside the fairgrounds as we were preparing for the show along with the rest of our large group.

READY FOR SUMMER Challenge Week 1 Check-In

Week 1 is over already? Wow. That went by fast!

My goals for this past week were:

Weight loss :: Lose at least 2 lbs. More would be great, but I really want to lose at least 2 lbs this week.

My weight this morning as 292.8. I am only down 1 lb, however the last couple days have been insane. I will not dwell on what I didn't do. I am thrilled to have lost a lb!

NSV (Non-Scale Victory) :: See a change in my measurements. Even a tiny change. You can see my progress so far, HERE.

My current measurements:
Neck: 16.25 (-0.25)
Right Wrist: 6.75
Bust: 54
Band: 49
Waist: 54.5 (-1.5)
Hips: 58 (-2)
Right Arm: 17
Right Thigh: 29
Right Calf: 18
Right Ankle: 10
Total inches lost this week : 3.75
VICTORY!

Exercise :: Work out at least 5x.

This was a success as well! I have worked out harder this week than I have in a long time. Even though I was very busy Fri and Sat, I still have managed to get in deliberate workouts 5 out of 7 days!  WOO!

Nutrition :: No eating out, count my calories everyday, and stay within my pre-set goals on My Fitness Pal.

Ok, so this one didn't go so well. I did eat out on Fri and Saturday. Friday I did try to make good decisions. Saturday not so much. But I did go 5 days without eating out!!!

I'm ready for WEEK 2. I think I will keep my goals the same as they were this week. It is going to be great. Good luck everyone!!

Day 90 and 91

Friday and Saturday were spent on the go, go, go. Getting ready for our new Mini-Rex's and going to the rabbit show. I'll try to catch up the updates tonight.

Day 89

Yesterday was one of those days when you feel like you don't have enough time to even breathe. I helped Bai with his school work, went to school to pick D up, to the grocery store and various pet shops. Once home I had to do the pack in/put away. Next it was time to help D with his spelling and sight words and get showers. I got a mile in on the treadmill and had to head to bed.

Food was ok. I came close to going over my calories, but I didn't. The main reason being that I ate almost an entire bag of pork skins when we were on the go. The boys ate at Long John Silvers and it was so hard not to eat with them.. but I didn't. I was starved before we got home, thus the pork skins. I got my water in, but drank a Diet Coke as well.

It is a new day today, and I am hopeful that it will be better. I am kinda worried about tomorrow (Saturday). We are going with our local 4-H across the state to a Rabbit Show. I don't know how I will manage not to eat out. I didn't think about the trip when I set my goals for the week. I plan to take our snacks, can eat breakfast at home, but at some point I'll have to eat some real food while out. Ugh. I'll try to make the best choice I can. Wish me luck.

Day 88

Yesterday was a decent day. A very long one for some reason, but decent none-the-less. I helped Bai with his school work and cleaned a little, took him to speech therapy, had a progress report meeting with Daltons teacher that wasn't so great (I was an emotional wreck after that), and then picked Dalton up from after-school tutoring.

Once we made it home, Michael was home. He wanted to take the boys down the road about 1/2 a mile to a huge church parking lot to let them ride their bikes. Bai could ride his anywhere, but Dalton is still learning and the gravels in our driveway don't do too well with training wheels. So, we loaded up and headed out. The kids had a blast!

I had already walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill earlier in the day, but decided to walk a few laps instead of sitting on the tailgate of the truck being lazy. A lot of the locals use the parking lot as a walking track because we don't have one remotely close to us. So I knew that 6 laps around was a mile. My goal was just 3 laps to make it an even 3 miles walked yesterday. But, once I got to 3 laps finished, I was feeling great, so I did 3 more.  For a grand total of 3.5 miles walked yesterday. It was perfect weather for walking. The sun was shining beautifully, but the wind was blowing, making it just cool enough to be comfortable.

I originally had plans to come home and do TBL workout too, but my side was killing me by the time we got home. Michael seemed to think it may be a pulled muscle, but I don't think so. I told him it hurts right in the area where my gallbladder should be. I hope and pray it isn't something serious. It is still hurting this morning, though.

After we made it home I fixed the kids a bite to eat, we all got showers, and hit the hay. I couldn't go to sleep even though I was exhausted because of my side, so I laid in bed and read. As a result, I am dragging this morning. I'd love a nap, but I don't foresee that happening.

Food yesterday wasn't horrible, but wasn't great. I kept my calories within my range, but I had way too much bread. We didn't have a lot of options here at the house to chose from. I have got to get out to the grocery store at some point today.

I hope it is a wonderful day for us all!

Day 87

The scale was nice again this morning. It moved in the right direction. Maybe not as much as I would like, but I'll take anything, anything at all! As long as the number goes down, I am happy.

I'd really be tickled pink if I never saw the number go up even a smidge from here on out. I know our bodies hold water and different times of the month are especially bad for women, but still.. it is hard to see it, even if there is a rational reason.

Food today was just whatever was quick and I know that is not a good thing. Planning ahead would be best... but I just didn't feel up to cooking and the kids are so picky, they wouldn't eat it if I did fix a big meal. Michael had to close at work, so really there was no point in cooking for one person. I did keep my calories within the limits, tried to make decent decisions, drank my water, and I didn't have a Diet Coke today, at all. Not even a sip. Yay me!!! That is a NSV for sure! Now if I can just keep it going... my next goal is to make it a week, but I cave too easily when it comes to Diet Coke.

I did 25 minutes of TBL workout video, which is the entire low-impact aerobics portion, and I walked 2 miles on the treadmill.

I'm off to bed to read. I hope everyone had a great day and that the scales are friend to each of you in the morning! Nite!

Day 86

Today was a pretty good day. I kept my calories in check, drank my water, walked a mile and a half on the treadmill and did the 25 minute low intensity work out on my The Biggest Loser DVD.  I even got some housework done. The only down point was that I drank a Diet Coke.. but even that shouldn't make me feel bad. One Diet Coke isn't the end of the world. I use to drink them non-stop all day. As long as I keep it at one, I'm ok with that.

Off to read. I hope everyone had a fantastic day!

Day 85

Today has been a good day. I wish I had got up and went to church, but I didn't. I was just too tired and maybe too lazy. I slept til almost noon. Yes, noon!!!

Michael, the boys, and I went to Mom and Dad's to eat dinner with the family. I ate too much I am sure, but I haven't ate much since so maybe it will be OK tomorrow when I weigh in.

I managed to get all my water in today and only had a sip of a Diet Coke. I'm pretty proud of that. I really really love my Diet Coke. I don't know what it is about it.. but it just makes my day to crack a cold one open.

I didn't work out this afternoon as Michael was working on my treadmill in the middle of the living room floor. He adjusted the belt and for now it isn't slipping. It is just a quick fix and we will need a new belt in the future, but it works, for now. When he finished, he looked at me and said "There you go, honey! Walk until your little legs fall off." LMBO! He is pretty great.

As if getting my treadmill back in working order didn't make me happy enough... my KENTUCKY WILDCATS advanced to the FINAL FOUR!! Go Cats!!!!

I'm not sure who this photo originally belonged to... but someone has shared it on FB and I couldn't resist posting it here.
